World Cup 2026: 8 countries eliminated from tournament

The race for the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage has claimed two more Countries with Czechia and Qatar officially eliminated following disappointing results in their final group-stage matches.

BettingVoice.com reports that Czechia’s hopes of reaching the Round of 32 came to an end after suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat to Mexico. The result ensured Mexico finished strongly in the group while leaving Czechia without enough points to progress.

With their exits confirmed, Czechia and Qatar join Uzbekistan, Panama, Haiti, Turkey, Jordan, and Tunisia, all of whom have already been eliminated from the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup.

The 2026 edition of the tournament features a new competition format, allowing the top two teams from each group to qualify automatically for the Round of 32. In addition, the eight best third-placed teams across all groups also advance to the knockout stage, keeping qualification hopes alive for several nations until the final round of group fixtures.
