It was a black day for Liverpool fans when the news came about Diogo Jota, who lossing his life\u00a0 in a tragic car accident in Spain along side with his brother while trying to overtake a moving car\u00a0 last night.<\/p>\n

The Portugal forwards Diogo Jota<\/a> and Andre Silva, who were driving in their Lamborghini, lost control, leaving the road due to a tire blowout while trying to overtake another vehicle in motion, and then caught fire. in the accident, which took place in the Spanish province of Zamora. had them die instantly.<\/p>\n

THE BIGGER PICTURE<\/span><\/h2>\n

The eyewitness, who narrated the whole incident to BettingVoice TV, said that he saw them trying to overtake at a sharp corner, and then suddenly their car tire blew out, letting the car go into flames, burning everything down to no recognition. Jota, 28, who just got married to his partner, Rute Cardoso, on June 22 last month, saw the marriage last just 11 days. They are married with three children. The Liverpool forward’s brother Andre, aged 26, also plays for a Portuguese second division side called Penafiel.<\/p>\n

JOTA’S LIVERPOOL CAREER<\/span><\/h2>\n

Jota, 28, joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 for a \u00a341m transfer. He had 182 appearances and scored 65 goals for Liverpool. Last season he was rated as the hottest player after scoring six times, helping his club win the Premier League title. He had also lifted different cups, like the FA Cup, Community Shield, and the Carabao Cup twice with Liverpool. Jota played for his country 49 times for Portugal and last month featured in the UEFA Nations League final victory over Spain.<\/p>\n

“The club getting the news was heartbroken knowing that they had lost a star and his brother to a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre.<\/p>\n

“As they attempt to cope with an unfathomable loss, Liverpool FC will not be commenting further at this time and asks that the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates, and club employees be respected.<\/p>\n

“We will continue to provide them with our full support.”<\/p>\n

“I am completely devastated by the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother Andr\u00e9 Silva this morning in Spain,” the Portuguese football organization announced. In addition to being an outstanding player with almost 50 caps for the national team, Diogo Jota was also a remarkable individual who was admired by both opponents and teammates, had a contagious smile, and was well-known in his own neighborhood.<\/p>\n

FOOTBALL WORLD MOURNS JOTA’S DEATH<\/span><\/h2>\n

“Everyone at the Premier League is shocked and devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre,” the Premier League’s X account stated. During this tragic moment, our deepest sympathies are with Diogo’s family, friends, Liverpool FC, and all of their supporters. A champion in football has passed away and will always be missed. We’ll keep helping out our friends and coworkers at the club.”<\/p>\n

It stated, “Our deepest condolences are with the loved ones of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre, and everyone connected with Liverpool FC following today\u2019s heartbreaking news.” Manchester United, among many other teams, also issued tributes.<\/p>\n

“On behalf of the European football community, we are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Diogo Jota, Portugal international and forward for Liverpool FC, along with his brother Andr\u00e9 Silva,” said the official statement from UEFA. We send our condolences to their friends, family, teammates, and everyone else impacted by this tragic loss.<\/p>\n

Manchester City stated, “The heartbreaking news of Diogo Jota’s passing has shocked and saddened everyone at Manchester City.” We extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones, friends, and the entire Liverpool Football Club during this trying time. Diogo, may you rest in peace.<\/p>\n

“It doesn’t make sense,” Cristiano Ronaldo<\/a>, Jota’s former teammate from Portugal, commented on Instagram. You recently got married, and we were on the same national team. My deepest sympathies and best wishes are sent to your family, including your wife and kids. You will always be with them, I’m sure of it. Diogo and Andr\u00e9, may you rest in peace. A minute’s silence will be observed prior to all of the Women’s European Championship matches on Thursday and Friday, according to confirmation from UEFA.<\/p>\n
